Cancéropôle Lyon Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Cancéropôle Lyon Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (CLARA) is an initiative launched and financed by the public authorities (National Cancer Institute, local authorities and European Regional Development Fund). Placed under the aegis of the Innovation and Transitions Foundation, it is part of the national cancer plans and aims to develop oncology research in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Since 2003, the CLARA has brought together academic, clinical and industrial players across the region to support a regional, national and international strategy to fight cancer, with two objectives: the rapid transfer of discoveries to patients and the economic exploitation of research. In addition to its commitment to decompartmentalizing and fostering collaboration between all research stakeholders, the Cancéropôle supports projects through a structured service offering that is tailored to their needs. CLARA is also developing actions to open up research to the human and social sciences and public health issues, putting the patient at the heart of the research.
